About the team

We are small but well-established with an energetic and hardworking team of 40 with a team of 13 in our technical operations department. We operate in an environment that puts its people first. In all roles at U.K. Connect, we champion personal development, including funding degree courses to role-specific courses.


Job Type: Full-time

Reporting directly to the Head of Technical operations you will work within our Technical Operations department; you will be fully supported by our in house technical team and outsource Microsoft Specialists. You will be responsible for the internal I.T. Infrastructure, Application Management and I.T. Security.

Based on business outcomes, you will, scope, design, implement, manage and support our internal I.T. infrastructure and software needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • According to industry best security standards, ensure that our Cloud SaaS estate is built, deployed, delivered and operated securely.
  •  Incident Management. Acting as the first point of contact for all application and software security issues, vulnerabilities and events.
  • Drive security vulnerability remediation efforts across the organization.
  • Maintain compliance to security policies, standards, procedures, risk assessments.
  • Review existing policies and procedures and work with management to keep them updated.
  • Microsoft Azure configuration, management and subscriptions.
  • Power Platform (PowerApps, Dynamics 365, PowerBI & Power Automate) support, escalation point to 3rd part support vendors.
  •  Storage account configuration, management & security.
  •  Identity management (single sign-on, multi-factor authentication & conditional access)
  •  Endpoint Manager, workstation access, security & compliance. MAM/MDM
  •  Microsoft 365 domain/exchange escalations.
  • Microsoft Teams configuration & security.
  • SharePoint online design, configuration & security.
  • Amazon Web Services administration.
  •  SaaS application onboarding & 3rd party integrations.
  • Workstation configuration & compliance in Microsoft Intune for automatic deployment
  • Mobile Phone Support.
  • License Management.
  • Azure cost management & billing for resources.
  • You will work closely with the Service Desk, Engineering & Pre-sales teams in the Technical Operations Department as the subject matter expert in your field.
  • Keep appraised and evaluate new technologies.
  • Assist in the training and development of UKC staff.

Skills Required

The below skills required are an extensive list; however, this is not required in all cases if you feel you have the ability and experience, then we will still consider your application. We will provide full training for vendor-specific solutions.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ extensive experience in the Azure Active Directory domain environment’s design and delivery.
  • Design and delivery of Office365, SharePoint, MS Teams.
  • M.S. Intune for laptops and mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM).
  • Dynamics 365 CRM support.
  • Microsoft Qualified, MCSE, Azure AZ900, AZ104.
  • Microsoft PL-200 qualified.
  • PowerShell, Python, Ruby.
  • CISSP, CISMP, DPO, ISO 27001/27001, GDPR, Cyber Essentials or equivalent security certification level are highly desirable.
  • Network fundamentals TIA A+ LAN/WAN.
  • ITIL, Agile, Change Management, JIRA.
  • Team player and able to effectively interact with various individuals (U.K. Connect staff and clients) with different competencies and backgrounds.
