Network Technician

UK Connect is a fast-growing national provider of communication and technology solutions to the construction industry. Providing rapid day one connectivity, I.T support and I.T solutions across the UK and Europe.

As a UK Connect Network Technician you will be responsible for delivering our super high-speed broadband solutions to construction sites across the UK.

You will be the face of the UK Connect brand and will represent the company in a professional manner by ensuring that our customer receive the world class experience that they have come to expect.

As part of your dynamic role, you will from time to time be required to attend on-site call outs to investigate and troubleshoot escalated support tickets. Therefor a solid knowledge of I.T and networking is required.

Key Responsibilities

As a UK Connect Network Technician you will report into the Service Delivery Team.

  • Attend customer sites to deliver, install and repair the equipment and services as directed by the Project Co-ordination team.
  • Maintain accurate job specific administration in line with UKC’s process’s such as job notes, asset allocation, post installation tasks.
  • Manage your equipment and tools accordingly in line with your designated deployments.
  • Manage your vehicle and travel expenses and requirements in line with Company Policy.
  • Keep current with UK Connect products, solutions and procedures.
  • Have a deep understanding of the customer and their specific IT requirements.
  • Assist with requests from the team as required.
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support.
  • Troubleshoot any escalated tickets in a competent manner, whilst communicating professionally with the customer and the support of the Service Desk
  • To be responsible for completing specific technical projects as designated by the Service Management Team E.g. Service Transitions, Projects and deployments
  • Maintain personal qualifications, skill set and ensure training is completed in line with business and personal needs.

Essential Experience and Attributes

  • At least 3 years of experience working in an IT support role, ideally within a managed service provider.
  • Strong networking skills.
  • Fault analysis, management and prioritisation skills are required to ensure all issues are resolved based on criticality for all our customers.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Focused and driven with an attention to detail.
  • Patient, adaptive to change and have strong work ethics and values.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Able to interface confidently with customers.
  • Able to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Infrastructure installation, such as Cat5/6 data cabling.
  • Full clean UK driving license.
