A Devon born and bred aspiring painter and decorator with huge ambitions has been named as Redrow’s National Apprentice of the Year. Courtney Baker-Edwards from the West Country division was presented with the award at Redrow’s annual Apprenticeship Awards. Redrow prides itself on valuing and developing its employees. The housebuilder has been listed as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer for five consecutive years and was awarded Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Apprentice Employee of the Year.Read more

Barratt Homes Set to Post Record Annual Profit

House-builder Barratt is set to post record annual pre-tax profit of around £835m after output reached its highest level for a decade

Barratt Homes, in a trading update to shareholders, has said that its results for the year to 30th June 2018 would make for happy reading when published in September. Profits would be up 9% on last year’s 765 million pounds thanks to a strong end to the financial year and early progress on margin initiatives.

Barratt Homes Open New Cambridgeshire Ddivision

UK housing giant Barratt Homes are opening a brand new division in the East region. Having just celebrated their 60th anniversary (2018), the new Cambridge division marks the company’s continuing growth and success. Barratt are now the biggest house-builder by volume in the United Kingdom, having sold over 17,000 homes in the year to June 2017. Over the past 6 years Barratt has increased its housing output by more than 55% in line with growing demands.

Over 1 million homes without fast broadband

According to a recent Ofcom study, over 1 million homes have been left without the fast broadband services expected of UK household providers.

In an Ofcom study during Q4 of 2016, the telcoms regulator identified 1.4m UK households are still without reliable internet connectivity! In modern life, fast broadband is no-longer a nicety, it’s essential for our digital lives to develop, such as video-calling friends etc.
