Show House magazine talks all things broadband with UK Connect

UK Connects PJ Farr met with Rupert Bates from Showhouse magazine to discuss why UK Connect is becoming the industries favourite broadband supplier.

Show House magazine, first published in 1995, is the leading trade title for UK housebuilders and new homes suppliers. It is read by all the key decision-makers and influencers in the industry. They put an emphasis on profiling leading figures within the industry and what makes them and their companies tick, as well as covering all the latest housebuilding news and views.

In this 14 page special, Show House magazine goes on to tell us why broadband is fundamental from day one, how it benefits both homebuyer and builder and how connectivity is allowing for new technology solutions to drive better business outcomes.

The future of digital in the construction industry

As the importance of fast, reliable connectivity is now being realised, the emphasis is no longer on just a connection, but what that communication allows us to do. From sending large scale drawings, to gaining valuable sales and marketing insights – broadband is now seen as the enabler for so much more.

PJ Farr, Managing Director for UK Connect said, “Our business looks right across digital construction and infrastructure in the home; its future, the challenge and the opportunities and, as an industry housebuilding has a lot of stakeholders to bring together.”

UK Connect Triumphs at the Soldiering On Awards

We’re thrilled to share with everyone that UK Connect has won top prize in the Business of the Year – Scale Up category – at the Soldiering On Awards 2019.

P J Farr, managing director of UK Connect, was presented with the award by Helen Helliwell, Director of the Armed Forces People Policy, Ministry of Defence, at an award ceremony on Friday 5th April. The event was held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel and hosted by TV personality Carol Vorderman and former Royal Marine Commando, LCpl John-James ‘JJ’ Chalmers.

PJ says:

“I am so honoured to have won this award, it means a huge amount to both me and the UK Connect team. As a former member of the Armed Forces, I am inspired daily by the diverse and dedicated people who support the Armed Forces. I am really proud that UK Connect is involved with these awards which celebrate the outstanding achievements of current and former servicemen and women, and their families. I would also like to say a huge well done to all of the other winners and our fellow nominees!”

PJ dreamed up the concept for UK Connect when, as a soldier, he was often posted to remote locations and started thinking about how businesses survive in areas where broadband is not available. This inspired the idea for the company which PJ launched shortly after leaving the army with an investment of just £1,000.
