UK Connects Technical Consultant Chris Bower features in this months Digital Bulletin, discussing network automation and how companies can address existing roadblocks to implement this future facing technology.
This is the question posed to a panel of technical experts in this months online edition of the Digital Bulletin. Chris describes the almost mythical status that network automation has acquired amongst the digital community and the increasing attention it has been receiving over the last few years.
Chris goes on to give real-world scenarios using construction related examples such as PPE detection, focusing on the computational power required from the cloud as well as the increased bandwidth requirements for this type of service.
Currently, society circumvents the challenge of network automation through stand alone technology. Chris takes Tesla cars as an example and goes on to explain that although they arrive with pre-programmed AI, the data is already outdated by the time the car launches and explains the implications and potential dangers of this.
Chris doesn’t stop there and proposes that the advent of 5G and Wi-Fi 6 offers a powerful proposal to closing the gap on edge computing. He advises that companies who are interested in network automation continue investing in the lateset digital communications and wireless technology, reading themselves to embrace a new age of AI driven networks.
